Connecting
Your Headset
to the Charger
Your STEP
1150 is shipped
with an auto-switching
power supply
able to be
used with
Voltages 100V-240V
AC. The plug
configuration
of the power
supply is
appropriate
to the country
in which your
headset was
purchased.
If you travel
to foreign
countries
and wish to
charge your
headset during
your travels,
you will need
to purchase
the appropriate
adapter for
use in the
country you
are visiting.
Your
charger
is also
supplied
with a charger
adapter
cable approximately
23 cm (9
inches)
long. This
adapter
cable is
used to
connect
your headset
to your
charger
to the optional
charging
devices
available
from STEP.
WARNING:
do not attempt
to charge
you step
1150 with
charging
adapters
from other
companies.
Doing so
may damage
your step
1150 and
void your
warranty.
To charge
you headset,
connect
the adapter
cable to
the charger
if it is
not already
connected,
and then
plug the
adapter
cable to
the headset
as shown.

Note: the
charging
adapter
is ‘keyed’
to fit only
one way
into your
headset.
Do not force
the adapter
cable into
the connecting
port of
the headset
as this
may damage
your headset
and void
your warranty.
Paring the
headset
4.
Multi- Function
Controller
Before you
start using
the headset
for the
first time,
you must
pair the
headset
with the
mobile phone
or device
want to
use it with.
1. Being
by activating
the Bluetooth
TM paring
function
on your
phone or
other device.
Please refer
to the owner’s
manual
of your
phone or
other device
for detailed
instructions
on how to
access and
activate
the Bluetooth
paring
or set-up
procedure.
2. With
the headset
turned off,
press and
hold down
the multi-function
control
for approx
5 seconds
until the
LED indicator
light on
the headset
flashes
an alternating
green and
red. Make
sure the
headset
and the
phone are
in
close proximity
to each
other.
3. Follow
the Bluetooth
TM paring
or set-up
instructions
and screen
prompts
on your
phone or
other device
to pair
it
with
the headset.
4. When
prompted,
enter the
headset
passkey
of 0000.
5. If the
paring is
successful,
your headset
indicator
light will
flash green.
If
your phone
or device
does not
find the
headset,
turn off
the headset
by pressing
down the
multi-function
control
for approximately
5 seconds,
reset your
phone or
device to
the beginning
of the Bluetooth
paring process,
and repeat
steps 1-5.
once paring
is completed,
your headset
will work
with your
cell phone
anytime
the two
units are
powered
on and in
working
proximately
to each
other.

Resetting
the Headset
When paring
the headset
to a new
Bluetooth
TM device,
you may
want to
reset the
headset
to its default
settings.
This clears
all current
parings.
To
rest the
headset:
1. With
the headset
turned off,
depress
and hold
down the
multi-function
control
for 12 seconds.
The LED
will flash
green for
approxmately2-3
seconds,
then red
and green
for approximately
7-8 seconds,
then orange.
Release
the button.
2. The headset
will power
off automatically
after a
few seconds
the headset
has now
been reset.

General
Operation
To
Turn the
Headset
On:
- Press
and hold
down the
multi-function
control
for approximately
2 second
or until
you hear
a series
of short
tones
(low tones
followed
by high
tones)
To
Turn the
Headset
Off:
- Press
and hold
down the
multi-function
control
for approximately
4 seconds
or until
you hear
a second
series of
short
tones (this
time, high
tones followed
by low tones).
Adjusting
the Volume
- You can
adjust the
headset
listing
volume during
a call by
rocking
the multi-function
controller
wheel forward
twice
for each volume
level increases
you desire.
- To decrease
the volume,
rock the
multi-function
controller
wheel backwards
twice for
each volume
level decrease
you desire.
There are
eight separate
(8) volume
levels.
- Note
be sure
to merely
rock the
multi-function
controller
wheel forward
or backward
during adjustments.
Do not press
down, as
you will
end your
call.
Making
and Receiving
Calls
Once you
have paired
the STEP
1150 with
you phone,
you can
make and
receive
calls using
the headset
as long
as it is
turned on
and within
range of
the phone
(up to 0m./30
ft).
Note:
the multi-function
Led indicator
flashes
green more
rapidly
during a
call or
active transmission
of information
(e.g. dialing)
to indicate
it is communicating
with your
phone.
For
phones without
voice-dialing
capability,
once you
headset
is paired
to your
phone, dial
the number
as you normally
would using
the keypad
on your
phone and
use the
headset
to converse
with your
party. For
voice-dialing,
please refer
to their
section
that follows.
When
using the
headset
to receive
a call,
press down
the multi-function
control
briefly
once to
answer a
call. To
end a call,
press down
the multi-function
control
briefly
a second
time.
Voice Dialing
If your
phonies
equipped
with a voice-dialing
mode, you
can place
calls with
your voice
commands.
To make
a call using
voice dialing
1.
Make sire
the phone
and the
headset
is on and
within range
of each
other. Press
down the
multifunction
control
once.
2. After
the beep,
voice dial
as you normally
would.
3. End the
call by
pressing
down the
multi-function
control
on your
headset.
You can
also end
a call by
pressing
the
END or NO
key on your
phone.

dialing
and control.
Answering
Calls
To answer
a call using
the headset
1. When
the phone
rings or
when you
hear your
phone ring
through
the headset,
briefly
press down
the multi-
function
control
once.
2. End the
call by
pressing
down the
multi-function
control
on your
headset,
or the END
or NO key
on your
phone. Answering
a second
call (if
you phone
supports
multiple
incoming
calls) You
must use
the phone
keypad to
answer
and handle
a second
call,
but you
can still
use the
headset
for talking
and
listening.
You cannot
use the
multi-function
control
to answer
the second call.

more than
one call
simultaneously.
